Boudoir Guide · Draper, Utah
The short answer: before you book, ask every photographer five things. What will I spend in total? Are my images included? Is there a sales or ordering appointment? Do I get a print release? Who will see my photos?
Clear, upfront answers to those questions are the best sign you’ll have a great experience, with no surprises after your session.
Booking a boudoir session takes courage. Most women have never done anything like it, and it’s normal to feel a little nervous. The right photographer will make you feel safe, guided and confident, and will be completely clear about what you’re paying for. Use these questions to compare any photographer you’re considering, including us.
Some studios advertise a low session fee or a “free” session, and the real cost comes later when you purchase your images. Ask for a realistic total, not just the starting price.
$595, $795 or $995, depending on the package you choose. That’s the full price for your session and your retouched images. Hair and makeup are booked separately with the artist of your choice.
In many boudoir studios, your session fee covers only the shoot. Images, prints and albums are sold separately afterward.
Included. Every package comes with a set number of retouched, high-resolution digital images: 25, 50 or 75.
An ordering appointment (sometimes called an image reveal) is where you see your photos for the first time and choose what to buy. Some studios require a minimum purchase. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but you deserve to know about it before you book.
No sales appointment and no minimum purchase. Your images arrive in a private online gallery.
Most photographers ask for a payment to hold your date. Find out how much it is, whether it counts toward your total, and what happens if you need to reschedule.
A $100 nonrefundable booking payment reserves your date and counts toward your package total. You can reschedule once with no fee. Additional reschedules will be a $50 fee.
A print release lets you print your images anywhere you like. Without one, you may only be able to order prints and albums through the studio, at the studio’s prices.
Yes, with every package. Print them, frame them or turn them into an album through any lab you like, whenever you’re ready.
Ask exactly how many final images you’ll get, and look at full galleries, not just highlights, so you know the editing style. Good retouching should still look like you.
25, 50 or 75 retouched images depending on your package, with the editorial eye Paige brings from more than 10 years of fashion, commercial and portrait work.
Boudoir is personal. You should know exactly where your images are stored and whether they could ever appear on a website, social media or in ads.
Your gallery is private and password-protected. Your images are never posted, shared or used for marketing without your written permission.
Many women feel most comfortable with a female photographer and a private space. Ask who will be present and whether the studio is shared.
Paige is a female photographer, sessions are for women only, and you’ll shoot in a private studio just off I-15 in Draper.
Almost nobody knows how to pose for boudoir, and you shouldn’t have to. A great photographer directs every pose, angle and expression so you can relax.
Yes, every single pose. You’ll never wonder what to do with your hands. Most women say the session is far more fun than they expected.
Outfit planning is one of the most common worries. Ask what guidance you’ll get before your session.
You’ll get a quick style chat and a wardrobe guide to help you plan your looks. Packages include up to 2, 3 or 4 outfits.
Professional hair and makeup can make a big difference. Find out whether it’s included, what it costs, and whether you can bring your own stylist.
Hair and makeup are booked separately, so you choose. Bring your own stylist, do your own, or book one of the local artists we love. You book directly with the artist, at their rates.
Reviews tell you how a photographer makes people feel, not just how the photos look. Look for comments about comfort, communication and pricing.
